“Being Rich Means…” Contest

The contest was revised 9/26/2012.

You may have noticed that I draw a lot on this blog. So when my new digital drawing tablet came in the mail yesterday, it felt like Christmas.

I feel like I’ve finally arrived as an artist and blogger. Now I can draw straight to my laptop with a pen. How cool is that?

I’m excited to add a lot more art to this site. But this site isn’t about my artwork. It’s about kids and money. So instead of only seeing my drawings about money, I asked myself: what would a kid draw?

Tempted to take my drawing tablet to the streets, I thought better of it. Instead, I’m running the first-ever Empowered Dollar Drawing Contest.

“Being Rich Means…” Drawing Contest

I want to find the most creative, money-minded kid out there (sorry grown-ups- looking for a child’s artwork to showcase). Send in your drawings that complete the sentence “Being Rich Means…” and I’ll post them up on The Empowered Dollar (anonymously, of course).

Download the contest form here.

How to enter:

  • Any kid that wants to submit a drawing can enter – I have no way of knowing, so crayon drawings by 25-year-olds will be counted :)
  • Download the contest form and have your child/niece/little brother draw something completing the sentence “Being Rich Means…” Be creative and original!
  • Scan the drawing into the computer and email it to stephanie (at) empowereddollar.com. Digital drawings will also be considered (but it’s not as easy to draw in MS Paint!)
  • Look for winning entries on The Empowered Dollar on October 15!

If you’d like to mail in your entry instead, send me an email at stephanie (at) empowereddollar.com and I’ll send you the contest mailing address.

Deadline is October 10th

All entries must be received by October 10th – so get to drawing!

Finally, this is supposed to be a super fun contest to showcase the creativity of kids across the country. Hopefully it comes across that way, but let me know if you have any questions about the details.

All the technical stuff: Sorry, but there is no giveaway in this contest. Just a chance to showcase some great artwork. This contest is subject to change or cancellation at anytime without advanced written notice.
